A brief history

2009

The Coyote story starts in 2009 with the creation of a fund and asset management business called M7 Real Estate. From day one, the decision was taken to put technology at the heart of that business. Market research failed to find a technology solution to buy, and without an off-the-shelf product, the only option was to build.

M7 were in a unique position in that one of the founding partners – Oli Farago, was a developer with experience in coding software applications. Oli moved into the basement, grew a beard (which remains to this day) and six months later, version one of Coyote went live.

2017

Over the next eight years, Coyote remained M7’s proprietary in-house software and was developed to support the growth of the business, seeing M7 advance from ten founding partners to a pan-European company with over 250 employees and €8.5Bn assets under asset management.

In early 2017, after users had logged more than a million hours on the platform, the internal software team left M7 to create an independent business. The same team merged with a creative agency, cementing the marriage between developers and designers. They launched Coyote as a new standalone company and retailed Coyote to the wider property market.

2018

Collaboration with other PropTech companies has helped Coyote evolve into the market-leading product it is today. In 2018, Coyote’s partnership with Infabode was announced, enabling users to analyse global industry sectors alongside their data, and consequently earned Coyote the 2018 EG Tech Award for Investment.

2019

By 2019, over €100 bn in AUM was tracked and managed in Coyote by over 30 commercial real estate clients. New iterations of the software continue to be released every two weeks, providing users with new functionality and solving real problems.

2020

Like many organisations across the globe, this period was a test for some of Coyote’s clients, with uncertainty in the investment market and asset managers struggling to maintain rental collection due to tenant struggles.

Coyote’s Product and Engineering teams worked with these clients to deliver 22 new releases in response to the pandemic. Helping asset managers facilitate better communications with tenants and understand their exposure to specific sectors, and enabling investment teams to track the market and best position themselves to capitalise on activity.

2021

Coyote launched a data-logging service for commercial real estate teams called Coyote PLUS. The subscription service allows investment teams to send deal information to a Coyote data management team, who input introductions on their behalf, freeing up valuable resources whilst building an invaluable database of investment comparables.

2022

Today, Coyote continues working with a growing list of commercial real estate organisations. From small investment and asset managers to the world’s leading businesses – Coyote is committed to delivering solutions to the evolving challenges of the real estate industry.
